A TRAVEL GUIDE TO RYANAIR’S NEW WINTER SCHEDULE

Ryanair announced last week that it has launched its largest UK winter schedule which includes 21 new routes from 21 airports. The new additions will have flights from Stanstead, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Manchester.

Now that passengers can fly to more places with the low-cost airline, let’s look at what some of these winter sun and city destinations have to offer.

Barcelona

Boasting a reputation for being a cosmopolitan city known for its cuisine, fashion and architecture, Barcelona offers visitors a tranquil experience.

Whilst visiting you can experience a variety of fantastic sites from La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona Cathedral, the Picasso Museum to watching a football game at the famous Nou Camp Stadium. There’s something for everyone. Or why not give their restaurants a try, after all their cuisine is what the city is famous for. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of wine at a rooftop bar or a traditional dish by the Barcelona Port, you won’t be disappointed.

In the new winter schedule passengers can fly to Barcelona with Ryanair from Newcastle International Airport.

Venice

When you think about booking a romantic European break, Venice will no doubt be on your list of options. Originally built on 100 small islands, this city will always deliver on historic beauty and eye watering architecture.

Relying on waterways and canals there’s always something to see when wandering around Venice. The city also offers an array of art galleries, whether it be the Peggy Guggenheim Collection for modern art or the Galleria dell’Accademia which offers several classics from the renaissance period. This really is an artist’s dream. Explore the city through Piazza San Marco, St Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace which is a symbol of Venice and its gothic architecture. Not forgetting their many bridges, with a record 300 of them it can make it difficult to see them all in one trip but one you won’t want to miss out on is the Rialto Bridge.

Deciding when to visit Venice is key, between June and July you will find it is the busiest time but is the best time to enjoy their summer weather. Look out for the months between November and March as there is danger of flooding and can prevent you from seeing certain attractions.

Passengers have the option of two airports for their trip to Venice, Ryanair will be flying from Birmingham and Bournemouth.

Stockholm

Known for its music, design, fashion and technology, Stockholm is a vibrant and contemporary city. With an urban feel balanced with its history the city gives visitors an opportunity to explore it all.

Immerse yourself in museums around the city whether you like Science, History or Art, Stockholm has it. Visit the Western Harbour or Woodland Cemetery which offers unique architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a trip to the Artipelag, a museum located on an Island with 54 acres of land. Not only does this place offer beautiful scenery but you also have the option to travel via passenger boat which allows you to take the scenic route. If all that sightseeing gets a bit too much the spa and health resorts in Sweden have been around for 300 years, choose from the many options to help you relax. Whilst we love a treatment or two, we can’t forget about the nature and outdoor activities, hike through the forests or explore the meadows, there’s plenty for visitors to see.

In the new schedule, passengers can fly from Birmingham Airport with Ryanair.

Verona

Want to experience a city with a love story like no other? Then Verona is for you. Famous for its setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, this UNESCO World Heritage City offers romance, elegance, and a thriving setting.

There’s plenty on offer when looking for things to do whilst you stay. Visit Juliet’s Balcony to create your own fairytale experience or visit the Glustl Gardens, Juliet’s House and Museum and The Church of Saint Fermo which are just architectural wonders. If you’re looking for something more specific and love music or the theatre, then why not book in at the Teatro Filarmonico one of the best opera houses in Europe. If you want something a little more intimate the many bars in the area offer entertainment that you will truly love. As well as the city’s delicious cuisine, Verona offers outstanding wine which can be sampled in many of its restaurants.

Verona creates a love story that you can’t help but fall for.

In the new winter schedule, passengers can travel from Edinburgh with Ryanair.

These are just some of the amazing new places you can fly to with Ryanair but make sure to check out their new winter schedule to see what other countries you can explore.
