As the year draws to a close it’s time to reflect on another full year of LJS Aviation. It’s been a year of continued uncertainties but a successful one for all with exciting opportunities on offer. Below we go through all the highlights of our 2023 before we begin the new year.
Each year we look forward to the number of events and conferences we have the opportunity to go to, it allows us to network with existing industry colleagues and to meet new ones. This year was no different as we attended four different events around the world.
We started the year off as proud Platinum Sponsors at the Annual Aeroxchange Conference in California and what a great event to begin the year with. We then headed over to Atlanta in April for MRO Americas which not only gave us the chance to see key speakers and attend industry parties, but we were also able to see what the city had to offer outside the venue doors. This included visiting the Coca Cola factory, walking along the Centennial Olympic Park and just being good old proper tourists. In August it was time to visit the Big Apple… New York for the ACPC. A few days full of great meetings, catching up and some sightseeing up the Empire State Building. Finally, we concluded our events for 2023 with MRO Europe in Amsterdam. It was a fantastic couple of days seeing customers, attending aviation talks and looking at all the fantastic exhibits, it was certainly a great event to end our year on.
In 2023 we had a company first which was our nomination for an ASA Award, a proud achievement of ours and what an honour it was to be nominated. Thank you to all those that voted for us.
It was not only about celebrating the company, but we even had the opportunity to celebrate individuals this year. Our very own Dean Mayle was promoted to Senior Quality Inspector after all his effort and support within the business. We love being able to announce individual milestones such as these and be able to celebrate all their hard work.
As well as recognising our staff in house we also had the opportunity to celebrate our team on their big days. This year we were able to enjoy not one but two weddings. An unforgettable day filled with love and memories for both our Senior Sales Executive Steve and his wife Kelly and our Purchasing Manager Lia and her husband Darren.
Getting to know our staff and the work they do for us is something we love to showcase to people and this year we did just that. We sat down with our Purchasing Manager Lia to find out about her time in Aviation, what it’s like to work for LJS and even some helpful advice to those starting out in the industry. Blogging this year has become quite a monthly tradition for us and will continue to do so in 2024. We wrote nine blogs in total and next year we look to increase this number. This year was all about researching new airline routes, giving you an insight into the events we attended, UK Summer Airshows and airline travel guides. Next year you can expect more variety and a continued look into what we get up to at our annual conferences. This year as a company we wanted to get involved with the local community and when we had the opportunity to become sponsors of Ashington FC U12 girls’ team we knew we had to get involved. The minimum two year contract means we provide a playing kit for the team, sponsoring training tops and providing funds for equipment required, allowing the girls to have every chance of success. At LJS we’ve always been advocates of women and girls’ football which is why we wanted to get involved in supporting a local girls team and being able to watch them succeed in becoming the best they can be.
Overall, it’s been a great year for us and everyone involved and we look forward to continuing this success in 2024.
